Part of my A Meditation on Stillness and Organic Shapes series, this painting explores the relationship between color, form, and perception. The flowers are built from layers of individual marks - violets, blues, pinks, whites, and unexpected flashes of color - that begin as abstraction but gather into recognizable form as the viewer steps back.

I am interested in that moment when color becomes something more than color - when a collection of marks begins to feel alive. The stillness of the arrangement creates space to look more closely, revealing the movement, energy, and light held within something seemingly quiet.
